SARASOTA, Florida
Debra Lichter, a longtime real estate broker and chairwoman of the Sarasota Association of Realtors’ Sales & Marketing Group and its Public Information Committee, has joined Michael Saunders & Company as a broker-associate in the company’s Longboat Key South office.
“We are delighted to welcome Debra to Michael Saunders & Company,” says founder and company namesake, Michael Saunders. “She has a lengthy and distinguished history in Gulf Coast real estate and we look forward to tapping into her skills and aiding her in efforts to improve the flow of communications between the Sarasota Association of Realtors and its members, the public and the media.”
Association president Joe Hembree says Lichter's job as chairwoman of the Public Information Committee is to address issues of "image, public information, and communications." Lichter has also been working on the development of an operating system for data reporting and publishing the association’s Power Marketing Report, which is issued on the 10th of each month.
A licensed real estate agent since 1978, Lichter was founder and president of Marina del Rey Realty—on Sand Key in Pinellas County—where she maintained three offices and managed a sales staff of 12. After selling the company, Lichter moved her operations to the Sarasota-Bradenton area where she has worked both as a solo agent and as a marketing consultant to other agents.
In 1981, Lichter earned kudos as the selling broker for one of the largest to-date transactions in the history of Pinellas County. She brokered the sale of Pasadena Golf Club to Metro Development of Atlanta, who then sold it to U.S. Steel for $22 million in a concurrent transaction.
Having successfully invested in multimillion-dollar waterfront properties, Lichter understands real estate from two perspectives—as agent and investor. She has actively invested in Longboat Key properties and was an investment partner in Whitehall Homes, the builder of Avalon in Palm-Aire Country Club.
A Miami native, Lichter has a bachelor’s degree in political science and international studies from the University of South Florida. She is also a Certified Commercial Investment Member—or CCIM, Level One.
Debra Lichter can be reached by calling (941) 383-7851, or by emailing her at DebraLichter@MichaelSaunders.com. The Longboat Key office of Michael Saunders & Company is located at 440 Gulf of Mexico Drive.
