Where Do International Buyers Come From?

The 2007 National Association of REALTORS (NAR) Profile of International Home Buyers in Florida reports that 21% of buyers came from the United Kingdom, while 34% came from Latin/South America.

Over the past few years, the number of buyers from Western Europe has steadily risen, and those from Eastern Europe have doubled. Additionally, buyers from Canada have increased last year’s numbers by almost 25%.

Of these buyers, 39% purchased for a vacation home, 24% purchased as a rental property, and 37% purchased to use for vacation purposes and as a rental property the rest of the year.
