Tom Rain grew up in Alton, Illinois, enjoying the benefits of small town life in the Midwest. After graduating from Southern Illinois University with a bachelor’s degree in economics, he continued his studies toward an MBA.

Tom's business career began at Owens-Illinois, Inc. in St. Louis, Missouri, where he held management positions. Early on, he realized his interests were in financial investments and he entered this business in 1968. This was the beginning of an almost 35-year career as a financial consultant, working with both institutional and individual clients until his retirement from Smith Barney in 2002.

Tom has lived in Sarasota for 34 years, is married and has five children and six grandchildren. He has coached baseball, taught Sunday school and was involved in fundraising for the community Blood Bank. His creative talents are evident through his work with stained glass and jewelry making.

Tom and his wife, Kristina, have joined forces and created The Rain Team, concentrating their efforts on residential real estate consulting and sales. They advise both sellers and buyers, helping them experience successful and enjoyable real estate transactions.
