In our second annual Saunders in 60 Holiday Special, we went behind-the-scenes with one of Sarasota’s treasured cultural organizations, Gloria Musicae, as they prepared for their December 11th concert, “Too Hot to Handel”. Taking place at the Sarasota Opera House, this professional vocal ensemble welcomed us as they rehearsed Handel’s classic Messiah with a gospel twist, thanks to the vocal stylings of artists from the West Coast Black Theatre Troupe.
We hope you enjoy!
Gloria Musicae celebrates the excellence of choral music through innovative, stimulating performances and educational outreach. Currently under the direction of Dr. Joseph Holt, the ensemble has undertaken new cultural initiatives and partnerships to become a voice for the community in Sarasota. The organization has garnered a wealth of accolades for its innovative programming and superior vocal quality. Learn more about their season and how to purchase tickets: gloriamusicae.org
