I was recently treated to a tour of Granada Park. An intimate enclave of only 25 homes, Granada Park is located centrally in Sarasota, “West of the Trail”. It offers low maintenance, gated living convenient to Siesta Key and downtown.
This beautifully-planned neighborhood is situated not far from the Publix at Paradise Plaza (which, if you didn’t know, Publix was just ranked the 2nd best grocery store chain in America). Tucked away and hidden from any main roads, it provides a sense of discovery and tranquility as you pull up to the main entrance.
We arrived through the gate to meet with Steve Ellis of MGB Homes, the builder for the next phase of this community. He gave us a quick overview of the neighborhood’s history, which started development around 2005.
Renewed momentum in the market, combined with existing residents’ pride of place, is responsible for the addition of fifteen new home sites to this established community. We got a personal tour of the construction progress for the Hibiscus model home.
A few items that caught my interest:
At 2,246 SF of living area, the floor plan is manageable and more importantly, the layout is practical and very thoughtful. As Steve explained, “Bigger is not always better, especially if you have to clean it.”
There’s an attic. It’s air conditioned. And you can stand in it.
An optional outdoor great room takes advantage of the Florida lifestyle.
No surprise coming from My Green Buildings, sustainable building practices has made Granada Park a Green Certified Community by the Florida Green Building Coalition.
And everything onsite was kept in shipshape!
Here’s a rendering of what the model will look like when completed in June.
And of course, the community pool just across the street.
Since most of the home sites in Granada Park are uniquely shaped, the plans for new-homes-to-be-built follow suit. The same care that has gone into planning every square inch of the Hibiscus model carries over into each of the distinctive homes for sale. Prices start from the mid $800,000.
