A Message From Michael Saunders
My good friends:
Signs of the season are everywhere; with shorter days, longer nights and cool
morning breezes happily displaying that our spectacular winter weather is just
around the corner. Almost as revealing of this magnificent time of year is
the excitement buzzing though the air in anticipation of the new season of arts
and culture that lies just around the corner. Shows are rehearsing, costumes
are being sewn and singers are practicing their high notes in theaters and
concert halls from Bradenton to Venice. The electricity in the air seems almost
capable of lighting every theatre marquis in downtown Sarasota.
It’s nicely reassuring to watch as our local performing arts organizations
take to the boards nightly to prove the old show-business saw, “The show must
go on.” Because at Michael Saunders & Company, that’s exactly how we feel.
For just as nothing can prevent curtains from rising, or seasons from
changing, our real estate market will—as it always has—survive the bottom
of another corrective cycle only to bounce back stronger and healthier
than ever.
When will the correction end? No one can say for sure, especially in
view of recent events on Wall Street. What we can say without hesitation
is that each property completes its own correction when the seller prices
it right and a buyer perceives enough real value to make an accepted offer.
People are buying. Properties are selling.
