Goblins & Goodies And Geeks, Oh My!
Courtesy of
The TWIS Street Team LOVES this time of year when the weather is (supposedly)turning cooler
and parties are everywhere due to that tricky and treaty holiday known as All Hallows Eve!
But don’t wait ‘til then – begin your party today.
Start by laughing. After all, it’s not every day, or night, you can go giggle with a goddess.
Judy Tenuda that is, otherwise known as the
Aphrodite of the Accordion.
It’s been anti-gala for so long it’s turned itself back into a gala gala. What are we
talking about? You guessed it… the uneven of the season –
THE UNGALA GALA
Finally, it’s HALLOWEEN with tricks and treats and more treats. This year all of
downtown Sarasota gets to thrill with a haunted house for the kiddies and the
“Pineapple Square Asylum” for the TWIS street team (heehee). Also
“Creatures of the Night” at Sarasota Jungle Gardens,
Pumpkin Ball at Rustic Grill. And for those of us who like a good
costume contest (and you know who YOU are), line it up and strut it out at
Polo Grill & Bar and Mattison’s Riverside.
Sarasota Naturally is an all-day, all sustainable downtown
event. Don’t miss it ‘cause it features some of SRQ’s finest including music with
Radio-Free Carmela & the Attractions.Plus, it runs adjacent to the downtown
Farmer’s market where you can always find the TWIS street team out drinking
coffee and making merry.
If you’ve never been to the Lakewood Ranch Rotary Club’s
Suncoast Winefestival all we can say is…eat, drink, be merry!
Great food, better wine, all the fixings are there.
Play games with music – including ones with time and space -- at the
New College experimental musicians’ show Playspace. Who can
resist that, whatever it is?
Things we love ALL MONTH LONG. - Thursdays:
Turtle Walks Sunrise Beach Patrol for nesting sea turtles. - Fridays:
Veggie Magic Raw Sarasota Happy Hour on Fridays. - Sundays: the NEW
Siesta Key Farmer’s Market, plus “Taste of the Village”.
And last but not least, feel like a really big show this month? Try
Bye Bye Birdie – the Elvis-like story and music is a pip.
Bye Bye.
