A 4,817-square-foot beachfront home on the Gulf of Mexico in Boca Grande has sold for $16,890,000 – the second-highest sale this year in the idyllic residential community on Gasparilla Island. Situated on 1.17 acres on a sandy, private lane, the 4-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom home at 4515 Shore Lane in Lee County closed for $2,890,000 over the list price after only 13 days on the market.
“True beachfront homes have rarely entered the Boca Grande market the past few years,” said Michael Saunders & Company agent Carol Stewart, a longtime Boca Grande resident and top-producing agent who represented the buyers and sellers in the sale. “The sellers built the home in 1999 and created many memories with family and friends.”
After the property was listed, it quickly drew interest from multiple buyers. Stewart said the couple who purchased the estate are second-generation Boca Grande homeowners who are part of a family partnership that owns another nearby beachfront house that was constructed a year earlier by the same builder.
“The buyers really wanted this home. It’s 17 beachfront properties south of their family home,” Stewart said.
The house features classic woodwork and cabinetry, wood flooring and an ideal layout with a spacious primary suite, guest room and multiple living areas on the first floor and two en-suite guest bedrooms, a separate living space and expansive waterfront terrace on the second level. The property also includes a pool with sizable Ipe decks overlooking the picturesque Gulf and natural landscape as well as an elevator from the four-car garage to the second and third levels.
The Shore Lane property ranks among the highest-ever residential sales in Lee, Charlotte, Sarasota and Manatee counties. In April, another Boca Grande home closed for $1.8 million more, reflecting the island’s red-hot market and the allure of Boca Grande, which offers a tranquil island lifestyle where bicycles and golf carts rule the road and Old Florida charm abounds.
