“Our organization has been a leader in youth development since 1970, and we’re proud to offer thousands of local youth with dynamic programs designed to help them excel in school, become leaders, adopt healthy habits and plan for success after high school graduation. As we prepare to celebrate our 50th anniversary in 2020, our Corporate Board of Directors is focused on expanding our impact through strategic programmatic efforts and capital initiatives throughout Sarasota and DeSoto Counties. Lee DeLieto has been an instrumental leader in our organization for years, and has been at the table during some of our most transformative milestones. We are so excited for what’s to come for our organization under Lee’s visionary leadership.” – Bill Sadlo, President/CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota County
“One of my first events was a holiday party at one of our Sarasota clubs. I was overwhelmed at the reaction of the children who in many cases never celebrated the holidays due to financial issues. It was quite an emotional evening for me and continues to be so today. I was particularly impressed with how easily the children at the club bonded with their teachers and staff members – they could sense they really cared! Over the years, I have seen many of these kids benefit from the programs offered for personal growth – including college preparation, career planning, entrepreneurial training – and most recently the creation of a teen club, started by four kids who had left the club after turning 16 and are now returning and growing our community. It’s been incredibly rewarding to see our youth win Club of the Year Awards and receive state, regional and national recognition. It is a true testimony to how care and direction from qualified staff can benefit our kids.” – Lee Delieto, Sr.
