In the October edition of Style Magazine in the Sarasota Herald Tribune, Michael Saunders, Founder and CEO of Michael Saunders & Company, was recognized among 25 women who helped shape Sarasota. The list of women includes early-day Sarasota pioneers like Bertha Palmer, Emma Booker, and Mable Ringling, as well as more present-day philanthropists, leaders, and innovators like Bea Friedman, Debora Jacobs, and Diane McFarlin.
A native to the region, Michael Saunders was noted for her contributions to the community at the helm of Michael Saunders & Company. The real estate brokerage is the largest in the Sarasota, Manatee, and Charlotte County markets, the largest independent brokerage in the Tampa Bay Region; and the 53rd largest in the U.S. according to the Real Trends 500 Survey for 2015. The article also recognizes Michael’s philanthropic endeavors geared towards programs that enhance the quality of life on Florida’s Gulf Coast.
The full list was compiled by Sarasota historian, Jeff Lahurd, and Style Magazine editor, Gayle Guynup in honor of the publications 25th anniversary.
