Originally from Kentucky and most recently from Cumming, Georgia, Melissa spent many years relocating across the country as part of a military family. Those moves shaped her perspective in meaningful ways. She knows exactly what it feels like to make major decisions from a distance, to search for a home sight-unseen, and to rely on an agent for clarity, honesty, and steady communication. That personal experience informs the way she works today: with careful listening, proactive planning, and the ability to stay two steps ahead for her customers.
Melissa holds a B.A. in Psychology, a background that gives her an intuitive understanding of how people make decisions and what matters most to them when navigating a purchase or sale. Combined with her GRI and ABR designations and 19 years of real estate experience, she offers a balanced approach that blends skillful negotiation with a warm, approachable style often described as “Southern hospitality at its best.”
Her niche includes Babcock Ranch and the greater Punta Gorda region, where she has helped countless families, retirees, and second-home seekers find the right fit for their lifestyle. One of her most meaningful career moments came when she helped a blended family purchase a home in which they planned to be married. They later invited her to the wedding — a reminder of the relationships that can form when trust and genuine care lead the way.
Melissa and her husband of 38 years — a U.S. Army veteran — have three daughters, eight grandchildren, and a very spirited dachshund named Otis. Outside of work, she enjoys bicycling, traveling to new destinations (and returning to favorite ones), and spending time with her growing family. Among her favorite Gulf Coast spots is Crystal River, and she loves the diversity of the region’s landscapes, from the Gulf waters to inland wetlands and natural springs.
