I arrived in Sarasota from Baldwin LI NY in August of ‘83 with all my worldly possessions. I had a brand new degree from Albany Business College, $800, my car and a small suitcase. I was ready to conquer the world, as we all are I suppose at that age. A few days later I called my mom and told her I rented an efficiency and got a job at the carwash until I could find something better. She said when you get thi... more.s out of your system you can always sell your car to get back home. That was slightly more polite than my fathers “You're working in a carwash with a college degree in Florida, what’s next - training dolphins?”A few months later I started what was to become a 17 year career with Florida’s oldest family business the Albritton Fruit Company. I was hired as a store manager and from there went on to advertising, marketing, and public relations. My interest in real estate began in the mid-1980s under Tollyn Twitchell, son of Sarasota School of Architecture’s Ralph Twitchell. As a side job I helped to manage and maintain Sea Winds Condominium on Siesta Key where he owned a majority of the units and I resided. Applying that knowledge I bought my first “fixer-upper”, with help from Michael Saunders, on Longboat Key in 1987 for $70,000. During the ensuing years and several more of these projects under my belt, I became proficient in the Sarasota rental, home repair and real estate market.During this time I also got married, started a family and watched my parents sell their belongings to come down here too. Boy did I make them eat crow when they arrived. In 2001 I became a full time real estate agent. At first I was a little unsure of myself because I had no formal training in sales but soon I realized that people don’t want to be sold but rather just informed. They want someone who knows the area, can answer all their questions and can negotiate on their behalf. It was all the same things I was doing for myself for years. A decade later I have accomplished being able to earn a living doing what I love to do best while still having time for my family and friends. “I'm living the dream - What more can I ask for?”What’s your passion, your dream? Do you picture yourself walking out the backdoor onto a lush green fairway? Is it conducting your business on a balcony overlooking the gulf? Or is it surrounding yourself with friends and family all year round at your outdoor grill? Please allow me to help you with this exciting adventure. I can help you turn you dream into a reality by finding you the perfect home. ...less.
I have made 3 property purchases in Florida over the past few years and each time Brian Meskil was my agent. I can’t say enough about how well his customer service is. My impression of Brian is that his only concern is not just the “sale”. I believe Brian’s main concern is finding exactly what his client is looking for and making sure that the client is 100% happy with the property they do purchase. With his concern for the clients' needs and wants, the “sale” takes care of itself.Purchasing a house can be very stressful but when working with Brian it’s a very comfortable and confident (in him) process.
We just wanted to take a moment to thank you for the wonderful real estate service that was provided by Brian Meskil. He went above and beyond to help us find our perfect home. When we first began our real estate journey over a year ago, we were still living in New York, and couldn’t easily hop on a plane during the pandemic to visit a potential new home. Brian patiently listened to our needs and wants and then offered to visit homes we were interested in. This was such a relief for us that he would go out of his way to help us. During the time we were looking for a home, we got to know Brian pretty well. He is extremely patient, honest to a fault, always positive, detail-oriented, kind, extremely knowledgeable not only about the real estate market in Florida but also other things that come with home buying such as potential inspection issues or house problems. He answered our numerous questions (and we mean NUMEROUS) with as much honesty as possible, never trying to oversell or pressure us. It was this honesty that we appreciated the most while working with him. Since my husband is also very detail-oriented, I am sure he asked more questions than the average home buyer. Brian always treated his questions respectfully and did his best to answer them. He also put us at ease whenever a concern arose by looking at the situation logically and helping us work through our worries. We will highly recommend Brian to all our family and friends if they decide to reside in Florida.
Well, this was my 4th house purchased using Brian’s services so I think that speaks volumes. Brian is definitely one of a kind in regards to the superior customer service he provides. If all of your employees are as good as him your life and business are gold.
The safety and health of our customers and staff are our top priority.
