Embarking on a business in real estate, Robert is utilizing his 35-year experience in the retail industry, most recently with Tommy Bahama. He was fortunate to join them when they started opening stores and helped open the St. Armand’s location, and soon after, was promoted to Regional Manager, helping grow the brand in Florida, California, and Texas. He continued to succeed in rank, moving onto the corporate... more. office in Seattle where his team was responsible for product assortments for the 120+ retail stores in the U.S./Canada and E-commerce. Robert credits this experience for giving him a 360-degree view of the retail business with a strong understanding of business owners’ needs in diverse markets and being able to build strategies that supported them.

Just relocating back to Sarasota after living in Seattle for 12 years, Robert and his family took advantage of the opportunity to get back to the kind of lifestyle that his wife grew up in and one that he totally loves. They relish being able to experience the amazing beaches and getting out on the water to go boating, kayaking and paddleboarding. Robert says this gives his family a great appreciation of how beautiful it is to live along the Gulf coast of Florida.

Robert always wanted to explore a career in real estate but did not have the time to transition while working with Tommy Bahama and focusing on his family. The move back to Florida has helped him embrace this endeavor. As he searched for the right place to launch his career, he said it made perfect sense to be in the commercial industry. He loves being able to support customers in their business needs, be a positive influence in the market, and can be involved in the community.

Robert has been married to his wife, Charity, for 15 years and they have two amazing kids – Mason, who just turned 14 and heading into high school next year, and their 4th of July baby, Harper, is about to turn 12. They both have been able to meet new friends, enjoy hanging out with family, and explore hobbies, such as Mason joining a traveling baseball team and taking advantage of all the former MLB players who are giving one-on-one coaching.

Excited to be part of Michael Saunders & Company’s Commercial Division, Robert values that the brand is well known, respected and excellent in the real estate industry. Being able to grow personally and professionally as the company continues to grow is a huge win for him and his customers.
