Because of COVID my husband and I were not able to get down to Florida to open up and stage our condo for selling. But we need not have worried...Joanne and Jim looked after EVERYTHING from taking down shutters to replacing screens to putting away personal items to decorating. Even after an offer was presented and accepted, Joanne continued to help us by dealing with repairs on the inspection report. I would highly recommend the Hammar Team whether buying or selling. You can’t go wrong.

Both Scott Johnston, as our buyer’s agent (and neighbor in Sarasota National) and Joanne Hammar, listing agent, were a pleasure to work with to complete our home purchase.We dealt mostly with Scott during our purchase. He succeeded.  Since we live 1500 miles away, Scott was our eyes and ears during the process and kept us informed of every development. Joanne Hammar was recommended as a realtor to me by a friend who bought a home from Joanne and her husband at Sarasota Natl, Venice, Florida. I met with Joanne on March 16, 2019. I found Joanne to be very professional, very patient and “no pressure“. On March 16, I put a deposit on a home in Sarasota Natl with the understanding that it was subject to my husband’s approval. Joanne guided us every step of the way and actually represented us at the title company since we were snowbirds and could not be in Florida for the closing of our new home Although we hired a person to check the new house, we have had some problems with the AC system and tonight I called Joanne because our house checker was out of town. Joanne and her husband went over to our house and found the temperature in the house to be 114°. She followed this up with phone calls to us, to customer care at Sarasota Natl, phone calls to conditioned air, the AC company and multiple phone calls and texts to me. She did her best to ameliorate the problem. This was certainly above and beyond anything I would expect of a realtor. In fact, my husband and I have bought five homes over the 45 years of our marriage and although we have always been treated nicely by our realtors we have never been shown the consideration that Joanne has shown to us. Not only did Joanne go to our house tonight but she is going to follow it up with a visit to the house tomorrow to make sure that the AC is repaired.I felt that Joanne was a great realtor before tonight’s occurrence but now I feel that she is one of the most outstanding realtors I have ever met. She has made a very stressful situation much easier for me and my husband to accept.We do not only think of Joanne Hammar as our realtor but we also think of her as a friend. We are truly thankful to have met her.

The Hammars sold our condo quickly - from afar - and everything was timely and expertly handled. Jim and Joanne even arranged for inspection, repairs, packing, moving and storage of contents, and all paperwork. They are obviously well connected in the community, and know how to get things done. Nothing but 5 stars for these pros !

A family member met Joanne at an open house that she was hosting and recommended her to us. After one call to her, I was convinced she would be the realtor for us. Joanne always went above and beyond to make sure all of our questions were answered and we were given the right information to guide us through our house hunt. Her communication was prompt and professional. Buying a new home with Joanne was an extremely easy and very enjoyable experience. Her knowledge of her community and the surrounding areas was also very helpful to us. Most of all, Joanne is a great person with a wonderful personality. When we contacted Joanne and Jim to show us a house, they bent over backwards to help us when it was convenient for us. When we saw and liked the house, but didn’t like how the kitchen countertop as to its design, they set up an appointment with Joanne’s friend who had a similar floorplan and kitchen design, so I could see what could be done to effectively alter the countertop design. Then of course it didn’t stop there, they made sure all inspections were done and of course they were there during all inspections. They also set us up with the Michael Saunders' mortgage company, helped us through that, made sure that I got to the closing, and then showed up at the house after closing to help get things set up. They even went and bought pizza so we could have our first meal in our new home. You could not find two people that would do more than what they did for us when buying a house.

We randomly met Joanne last winter, and we were so lucky. After looking at 3 houses, she knew exactly what we wanted and led us in that direction. We loved what she showed us, our personalities clicked, and we ended up building. When we headed back north at the end of April, ground had not been broken. When we came back to FL, almost 2 weeks ago, it was for the closing. We did not come down once during the building process, but Joanne and Jim sent weekly pictures and emailed or texted us with updates. Without them, we would have had to make numerous trips to check on the process. During the walk throughs, they both pointed out things that we might have missed. My wife and I decided to build in Venice last year. We decided to look where Jim happened to be working. It was just luck that when we came in the office Jim was the first person to greet us and therefore would be our contact person. I have been in sales all of my life and have pretty good instincts on people. After sitting down with Jim and telling him what our desires were, he immediately knew what we would be interested in and which houses to show us. He was right and we committed to building our new Florida home. My first instincts were totally correct. We were dealing with a true professional. Some sales people might have backed off helping us during the building process, not Jim.
