Who doesn’t love food? And who doesn’t love a deal? And who doesn’t love dining at some of Sarasota’s best original restaurants? To me, the restaurant week known as Savor Sarasota is a present, wrapped in pretty paper and opened during the summer days of June. Three-course meals from our area’s famed eateries are just $15 per person for lunch and $29 per person for dinner. And while you may know the Sarasota area as a destination for unmatched beaches and arts and culture, you may not know that we have the highest concentration of Zagat-rated restaurants in Florida. Of the places participating, there are some returning favorites, like Michael’s on East and Café L’Europe, and even some newbies, like Seasons 52 and Lolita Tartine. Overall, there are more than 50 restaurants from which to choose. If you ate at two restaurants a day every day until June 14th, you'd only make it to about half of them! Check out the Savor Sarasota website to see all of them alongside their special menus and even the all-star chefs who are cooking up these culinary creations. Oh, and to celebrate, fellow-blogger Lucy and I headed to Louie’s Modern for lunch. We took no prisoners....
The menu provided lots of yummy options.
Lucy's Cool Buffalo Cucumbers looked delicious (and she didn't even offer me a bite!?!)
The Rice Cracker Crusted Tuna was incredible!
We both ate the Peruvian Chocolate Gateau with Sauce Anglaise. It was delectable...
And then, it was gone.
What restaurants will you be going to? Let us know in the comments?
