NOKOMIS, Florida—(January 6, 2016)—Last week’s sale of a 4.61-acre parcel of commercial land—located at 102 North Tamiami Trail, in Nokomis—is expected to pave the way for a new 100-room Hilton Home2 Suites to open on the site later this year. Situated on the southwest corner of Tamiami Trail and Albee Road—less than a mile from Casey Key, Nokomis Beach and the Gulf of Mexico—the new Nokomis hotel will offer much-needed lodging in this previously underserved community between Venice and South Sarasota. Aerial SWC 41 and Albee Road The commercial property, which sold for $2.2 million, was purchased by Casey Key Hospitality LLC.  Finergy Nokomis LLC was the seller. Dennis Dahm, an agent with the commercial division of Michael Saunders & Company, represented both sides of the transaction. The buyers are also the principles behind the new Hotel Sarasota which will be built on Palm Avenue—adjacent to the Palm Avenue Garage and Sarasota Opera House—in downtown Sarasota.  Demolition and site preparation for the hotel is currently underway.
