It was clear from the start of 2021, after a year unlike any other, everyone was looking for a change of pace. Leading to an exceptional year of the community coming together to make the most of our new normal, as part of our review for the past year, we are looking at the power of community and connection. Looking back at the mid-winter and spring seasons, it seemed like visitors chose to stay a little longer into summer – possibly making up for the lost time. We cannot blame them because there’s much more to Southwest Florida than palm trees and white sand. From island life to equestrian expanses, our little corner of the world is vibrant and diverse, making way for an abundance of events. Throughout the community, we saw a wave of energy. This was a sure result from the excitement for the return of seasonal traditions, many of which we were equally proud to be a part of. Here are some of the most memorable that we hoped to have seen you at…
MOD Weekend
The work of “the man who made Sarasota modern,” Philip Hanson Hiss, was appreciated at this year’s MOD Weekend. Walking tours of his Lido Shores communities allowed visitors to experience the innovation that inspired the modern architecture found throughout Sarasota today.
Longboat Key Kiwanis Lawn Party
Longboat Key’s signature event, benefitting the Children's Guardian Fund which supports local foster care children with clothing, housing, tutoring, food & more. It was an excellent event abundant with great food from over 25 local restaurants and live entertainment, and this year, all proceeds benefited the Children's Guardian Fund.
Crystal Classic

At the conclusion of 2021, we have remained the unrivaled market leader throughout Sarasota, Manatee, and Charlotte counties. Consistently outperforming other regional brokerages in total sales volume in all price points, as well as selling more properties priced at $1 million and above than any other brokerage. We are immensely grateful and humbled by the continued trust and loyalty of our customers throughout our communities, and the hard work and skill of our sales associates. Our founder, Michael Saunders, started the company over 45 years ago in a 1,000 SF office on St. Armands Circle with a vision to bring our region to life. To this day, despite how different the region and world may look, her vision still rings true as no other brokerage’s roots are as entwined with the roots of the region. Competitors come and go, but we stay because there is nowhere but here we would rather call home. We believe this is the same for you too. Learn more about Michael Saunders & Company >
