MSC Foundation Distributes $51,000 in Grants to 46 Area Organizations

Sarasota, FL (June 26, 2024) – The MSC Foundation, the philanthropic arm of leading luxury brokerage Michael Saunders & Company, distributed grants totaling $51,000 to 46 nonprofit organizations across Sarasota, Manatee and Charlotte counties during its recent mid-year council meeting. Including this grant cycle, the Foundation has donated $1,342,548 over 12 years to 274 local organizations ranging from youth, family and homeless services to underserved arts and literacy programs. The Foundation Council is made up of agents from each branch office and a mix of core services, division and corporate staff employees. It is managed by a board of directors which includes Michael Saunders, CEO and founder of Michael Saunders & Company and president of the MSC Foundation and Drayton Saunders, president of Michael Saunders & Company and MSC Foundation vice president. The council oversees two grant cycles annually to allocate funds. During this grant cycle, five of the organizations were first-time recipients. The company’s largest office on Main Street in downtown Sarasota provided grants to 12 local organizations, while Englewood’s office awarded grants to six organizations. “Michael and I are proud and extremely grateful for the support given by Michael Saunders & Company agents and staff through the Foundation,” said company president Drayton Saunders, who also is vice president of the MSC Foundation. The grants are made possible through voluntary contributions from the company’s agents and employees. To be eligible for a grant, an organization’s mission must be consistent with at least one of the foundation’s goals of providing shelter, sustenance, education and a path to self-sufficiency.
