For 42 years, Michael Saunders & Company has been proudly independent with no intention of ever changing that. This is mostly derived from Michael Saunders, CEO and Founder, starting the business in 1976 when, as a woman, you had to be strong, you had to be determined, and you had to make your own path. Over the years, the company has had opportunities to partner or franchise, but Michael said she knew that was not what she envisioned for Michael Saunders & Company.
“I just happened to feel that there was a very, very definite place for an independent company who could choose who they affiliated with, who carried the business card, who lead the company,” she said. “I just really felt being independent we could serve our customers, our agents, our leadership teams and our staff best.”
Industry research and statistics have shown that more and more customers prefer independent brokerages to franchises for their genuine and value-based foundations.

Culture of Giving
This past July the MSC Foundation – a grant distributing organization started in 2011 by Michael Saunders & Company – distributed grants to 41 local organizations. To date, the foundation has granted more than $600,000 to 177 local charities and causes. All contributions are generously provided by the donations of our agents and staff.
