I wanted to reach out and thank your team for the outstanding job they did in selling my mother's house. The agents we worked with were Bambi and Ford Utton. My Mother is 87 years old, and her time spent as a snowbird in Florida has come to an end. We considered many options, including selling the house to a family member or keeping it as a family house, but in the end, with the recent rise in valuations and timing, it made sense for us to sell. Bonnie and I have been vacationing at The Veranda for nearly all of its 43 years, and we have been unit-owners for much of that time. In addition, I have served three terms on its board of directors. Never before has The Veranda experienced a challenge to its mere existence resulting from devastation like that wreaked upon it by two recent hurricanes. The hurricanes caused the closure of the resort for four months, the only time in its history. The Veranda has never closed, except on maintenance weeks, and even then the place is buzzing with activity. This year, maintenance week was followed first by Hurricane Helene and then by Hurricane Milton. Many of us owners were forced to forfeit their weeks as the facilities underwent major repairs and rebuilding. Nothing was spared. Grace Denton, resort manager for Michael Saunders & Company, had hoped to reopen on January 1, but that was too optimistic. The pool, its deck, unit walls, the grill area, driveways, parking bays, lattice work all needed serious attention. Beach attendants became carpenters. As project manager Grace oversaw the enormous challenge to restore the Veranda. With the resources of a great management company behind her, and the readiness of a dedicated staff and VBC Board, she was able to enlist the necessary contractors to do the jobs, not an easy task when a community is in the throes of such devastation. All hands were on deck at the Veranda, and, day by day, problems were resolved and the work got done. I had the benefit of visiting the Veranda when it was still closed and I can testify to its unsightly condition... and this was near the end of its closure. Finally, February 1, 2025 arrived and at 3:00 p.m. week-five owners and renters converged upon 2509 Gulf of Mexico Drive to find beautifully restored (if a bit sandy) premises. It was clear to me that Grace and her crew had been at it for days at a time nearly without break, just to get the units prepared for occupancy. A stranger to The Veranda would not have known the effects of the storms. To them it was "business as usual." To us, it was nothing short of a miracle that the premises were nearly 100% complete. A drive up and down (mostly up) of Gulf of Mexico Drive shows how fortunate we were to have Grace at the helm. Similar spots remain closed, maybe even permanently. So, I offer sincere thanks and congratulations to Grace Denton and her staff of Cathy Hughes, Sandra Bradley, Maria Garcia, and Matt Shaffer. The board did its job of governance, but Grace did more than manage; she rebuilt.

I can’t say enough about my experience in selling my house in Sarasota with Bob Moffatt and Peggy Wellman. It was an outstanding experience from the beginning. Bob was highly recommended to me by my lawyer in Sarasota - Mary-Lynn Desjarlais and she did not steer me wrong. Living 850 miles from Sarasota, and this being a most difficult situation with the passing of my parents who lived in that Villa for over 30 years, then the untimely passing of my brother, who just purchased my half of the Villa three months prior to his death, was well, very emotional to say the least.Bob was amazing, walking me through every step of this sale. He and Peggy gave me the best advice, they were also always willing to talk to me by phone, texts, or emails. No question that I had was too small for me to ask. The end result was very positive, and I felt comfortable dealing with Bob and Peggy.A big thank you to all at Michael Saunders. My wife and I were very pleased with Yvonne Wolfe's being there for us from the very beginning of the process, which began for us in Colorado. Her intercession for us from offer to closing was impeccable and quite remarkable. She was always on top of the situation...offering exceptional guidance and wise counsel. She was available on-the-spot with advice and provided the necessary information that made our experience so much more enjoyable, considering all the stress that goes into buying a new home...especially, one out of state without having boots on the ground.
