The MSC Foundation: Delivering Dreams

We believe the Gulf Coast is an exceptional place and are committed to improving the lives in the communities we serve. With every real estate transaction, many of our Michael Saunders & Company agents elect to make a contribution to the MSC Foundation. The MSC staff can also elect to give a percentage of their paycheck or a one-time donation. From those individual efforts, a collection of funds grow until all contributions add up to an impressive figure. In the last two years, nearly $100,000 has been raised. Backed by an MSC Realtor, non-profit organizations within our region have the opportunity to request a grant. Twice a year the Foundation Board meets and - based on a wide range of criteria - determines which organizations will receive a grant and the amount. To date, over 55 non-profits have benefited from the Foundation. Many of which have received multiple grants. Here is a look at two of those organizations - Foundation for Dreams, Inc. and Boys and Girls Club of Sarasota County. Foundation for Dreams, Inc. Foundation for Dreams provides therapeutic camping programs for children ages 7 -17 with special needs and chronic/terminal illnesses. Dream Oaks Camp is located in Bradenton on the Manatee River. Their goal is to focus on each child’s unique aptitudes and is designed to strengthen their social skills, self-esteem and independence. It is the only camp in the Tampa Bay Area with year round residential and day sessions for children with varying ability levels (both physical and developmental) and chronic/terminal medical conditions including: (but not limited to) autism, spina bifida, cerebral palsy, developmental delays and cancer patients.  For more information, visit the Foundation for Dreams, Inc. website. Boys and Girls Clubs of Sarasota County The Boys and Girls Club of Sarasota County provides a broad range of after school and summer programs for kids aged 6-18. Over 4,000 young people’s lives are touched over the year with four clubs - Sarasota, Newtown, Venice, and North Port. The grant from the MSC Foundation is aimed at “Project Learn” which is an educational enhancement program focused on academic skills and work habits.
