For over thirty years the tarpon, also known as the silver king, has been a prized catch in this annual tournament. Average tarpon can weigh 70 to 140 pounds (with larger ones reaching over 200 pounds) and these magnificent fish can be a thrilling catch for any seasoned angler. But beyond the high stakes sport fishing, the focus each year also turns towards education and conservation of the fishery. It's an all-release, no-weigh, no-kill tournament that ensures the protection of natural resources for generations to come.
